Regional Adaptation Fora (RAFs) provide an opportunity for adaptation professionals to gather in the year between National Adaptation Forum gatherings. RAFs allow attendees to dive deeper into issues that may be specific to their region and build connections with other professionals in their areas. 2024 Southwest Adaptation Forum

February 27-29, 2024 | Tucson, Arizona

  

In 2024, the Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (SW CASC) will be co-convening the Southwest Adaptation Forum (SWAF), a regional forum of the National Adaptation Forum with the University of Arizona Center for Climate Adaptation Science and Solutions (CCASS). The 2024 SWAF is scheduled to meet February 27-29, 2024, at the Desert Diamond Hotel & Conference Center in Tucson, Arizona.


South Central Climate Resilience Forum

April 2-4, 2024 | Dallas, Texas

  

The South Central Climate Resilience Forum (SCCRF) will be an in-person 3-day event focused on fostering meaningful dialogue and action on equitable climate resilience and adaptation across the region.

The Forum will bring together representatives from non-profit organizations, all levels of government, community groups, private industry, and academia from Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. The goals of the event are to improve understanding of the climate-related challenges facing the region and increase awareness of work that is being done to enhance resilience in the region. The program will include presentations, symposiums, and workshops on resources, research, tools, knowledge, and experiences, and will provide opportunities for information exchange and network-building.


2024 Midwest Climate Summit

April 3-5, 2024 | Indianapolis, Indiana

  

The Midwest Climate Summit is a three-day gathering of climate leaders, researchers, and professionals focused on expanding knowledge, accelerating climate action, and catalyzing new partnerships for an equitable Midwestern response to the climate crisis. It is the premiere event in the region for those responding to the climate crisis in the Midwest.

2023 Midwest Climate Resilience Conference

October 25-27, 2023 | Duluth, Minnesota

  

The Midwest Climate Resilience Conference is intended to: 1) Provide a venue for meaningful climate adaptation and resilience dialogue amongst a diverse set of voices and perspectives including representatives from communities who are most impacted; 2) Share experiences, lessons learned, research, and resources across sectors and scales of governance, management, and decision making related to climate adaptation and resilience; 3) Celebrate successes and inspire collective action through coordination and collaboration across the region; 4) Connect and grow the regional network of climate adaptation and resilience practitioners by encouraging and supporting participation from a wide range of sectors, organizations, levels of government, and communities.

California Adaptation Forum

July 31 – August 2, 2023 | Pomona, California

  

The biennial California Adaptation Forum (CAF) aims to gather California’s adaptation community to foster knowledge exchange, innovation, and mutual support to accelerate adaptation efforts and create equitable and resilient communities throughout the state. CAF provides an inclusive space for community leaders, decision-makers, technical experts, and on-the-ground practitioners working across California to connect, discuss, and learn about new policies and tools, project successes and lessons learned, and emerging opportunities to build climate resilience in the near-term and over the coming decades.

2023 Local Solutions: Climate Migration

May 16-17, 2023 | Keene, New Hampshire

  

The goal of this meeting is to build capacity for socially just and equitable migration and enhanced regional climate resilience. This convening will be a culmination of the Northeast Safe and Thriving for All (NEST) project, funded by the NOAA Climate Adaptation Partnerships (formerly RISA) program to convene stakeholders to create an upper Northeast region that can become a climate refugia that is resilient, revitalized, socially just, and decarbonized.
